Privacy Policy
Effective September 3, 2026
Professor Matchmaker is an independent student-built app designed to help college students evaluate professor fit using professor information, student review evidence, and the preferences a user chooses in the app.
Information stored on your device
Professor Matchmaker may store app information locally on your device, including favorites or saved professors, personal notes, preferences, watchlists, collections, planner information, recent activity or search history, cached results, and app settings. This information is used to provide app features and is intended to remain on your device. You can remove local app data using available reset or deletion controls in the app or by deleting the app.
Search and professor information
When you perform a search or request professor information, the app may send the information needed to fulfill that request to the service used to retrieve professor and review data. This processing is used to return the requested results. Professor Matchmaker does not use these requests to create advertising profiles or sell personal information.
AI analysis
On supported Apple devices, Professor Matchmaker may use Apple's on-device intelligence features to help turn review evidence into summaries and match insights. When this on-device functionality is used, the AI analysis is performed on the device. Core professor information can remain available when AI analysis is unavailable.
Advertising and tracking
Professor Matchmaker does not include advertising features and does not use app data for cross-app advertising tracking.
Accounts
Professor Matchmaker does not require users to create a Professor Matchmaker account to use the app.
Data retention and control
Locally stored app data remains on the device until it is removed through available app controls, the app's data is otherwise cleared, or the app is deleted. Network infrastructure used to service requests may process technical information necessary to operate and secure the service. Retention practices for such infrastructure can depend on the service configuration.
Children
Professor Matchmaker is intended for students choosing college courses and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as Professor Matchmaker changes. Material updates will be reflected on this page, including an updated effective date when appropriate.
